29 CFR 1910.261(k)(18): Nip points. The hazard of the nip points on all calender rolls was not eliminated or minimized by means of an effective barrier device, or by feeding the paper into the rolls by means of a rope carrier, air jets, or hand feeding devices: a. On June 8, 2017, the drum reel on the dry end of the paper machine did not have an adequate guard to prevent employees from nip points associated with the thread up process of the paper machine.
