29 CFR 1910.1025(h)(1): All surfaces were not maintained as free as practicable of accumulations of lead: a) Armory; The plastic gun cleaning table had surface lead contamination. This exposes employees to lead ingestion hazards. *Please note that surfaces (other than glass or metal) are porous and gritty scrubbing cleaners (examples are Soft Scrub, Comet or Ajax) are sometimes needed to fully decontaminate the area from surface lead contamination. The Border Patrol was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1207009, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on March 21, 2017, with respect to a workplace located at Sumas, WA. The Border Patrol was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1149914, citation number 2, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on July 14, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at Blaine, WA.
