29 CFR 1926.651(h)(1): Employees were working in an excavation in which there was accumulated water, or an excavation in which water was accumulating, and adequate precautions had not been taken to protect employees against the hazards posed by water accumulation. On or about 06/14/2017, at the jobsite at 6798 State highway N., Cottleville, MO, employees working in an excavation that was 5 - 6 feet deep, 18 feet wide, and 35 feet long, engaged in pipe installation operations. Water was allowed to accumulate in the excavation with no means to eliminate the hazard to include such things as, but limited to, a water pump.
