Employees rough framing windows on the third floor were observed working on the window sill with an outside fall, without the use of fall protection. Violation observed on or about June 19, 2017

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(14): Each employee working on, at, above, or near wall openings (including those with chutes attached), where the outside bottom edge of the wall opening was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels and the inside bottom edge of the wall opening is less than 39 inches (1.0 M) above the walking/working surface, is not protected from falling by the use of a guardrail system, a safety net system, or a personal fall arrest system. a. 1 Oakwood Ave., Edison, NJ - All sides of the building The employer did not ensure employees engaged in the removal and installation of windows were protected from falls from open wall holes. Employees were observed working in areas where the bottom edge of the wall openings were approximately 30 inches and a guardrail was not installed in the windows. Violation observed on or about June 19, 2017
