OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fire and explosion hazards. Employees working on the derrick board engaged in well servicing operations were exposed to explosion and fire hazards from not attaching the emergency escape Geronimo line attached so as to permit emergency escape in the event it was needed at the well site.

29 CFR 1910.133(a)(1): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids and chemical glasses.
