29 CFR 1926.453(b)(2)(v): A body belt or harness was not worn and/or a lanyard was not attached to the boom or basket when working from an aerial lift: Note: As of January 1, 1998, subpart M of this part (1926.502(d)) provides that body belts are not acceptable as part of a personal fall arrest system. The use of a body belt in a tethering system or in a restraint system is acceptable and is regulated (a) 4975 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg Pennsylvania - An employee worked in a Genie aerial lift pulling wires. The employer did not ensure that the employee was attached to the basket of the lift, on or about June 20, 2017. (b) 4975 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg Pennsylvania - An employee worked in a bucket truck changing the insides of a light. The employer did not ensure that the employee wore a harness and attached to the bucket, on or about June 20, 2017. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
