29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees working in areas where there is a possible danger of head injury from impact, or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, shall be protected by protective helmets.    On or about June 20, 2017 employees performing residential siding installation were exposed to struck by hazards when employees worked on two different levels when the employer failed to mandate the use of hard hats.      No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.

29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation.    On or about June 20, 2017, the employer failed to ensure an employee utilizing a pneumatic nail gun used appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles.    Abatement certification is required of this item in accordance with requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).

29 CFR 1926.451(g)(1): Each employee on a scaffold more than 10 feet (3.1 m) above a lower level shall be protected from falling to that lower level. Paragraphs (g)(1)(i) through (vii) of this section establish the types of fall protection to be provided to the employees on each type of scaffold. Paragraph (g)(2) of this section addresses fall protection for scaffold erectors and dismantlers.    On or about June 20, 2017, an employee was exposed to a fall hazard of 10.6 feet, while working from a ladder jack scaffold, when the employer failed to ensure fall protection was utilized.      No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.
