29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(1)(i): Stairways having four or more risers or rising more than 30 inches (76 cm), whichever is less, were not equipped with at least one handrail:    Location: 7th & 8th floor stairs  On or about: 5/30/17    a) Employees used a staircase for access between the 7th floor and roof. The closed staircase did not have handrails.          NOTE: The employer is required to submit abatement certification for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.    Location: roof  On or about: 5/30/17    a) Employees were engaged in masonry  and rebar work, 72 feet above the ground. The employees were not protected from falling to the ground below.      NOTE: The employer is required to submit abatement certification for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.    The Eurocraft Contracting Corp. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1016584, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on 5/4/2015, with respect to a workplace located at 31-25 Newton Ave., Astoria, NY 11101.
