Employees entered Rotomat cookers to unjam crates without isolating physical and health hazards.

29 CFR 1910.147(a)(2)(ii)(A): Lockout/tagout procedures were not implemented when servicing and/or maintenance was taking place during normal production operations when an employee (s) was required to (A) Remove or bypass a guard or other safety device; (B) were required to place any part of his or her body into area on a machine or piece of equipment where work was actually performed upon the material being processed (point of operation) or where an associated danger zone existed during a machine operating cycle: At the time of the inspection, it was found that Rotomat operators did not lock out the equipment prior to entering the cooker to unjam crates. When employees entered the machines they were exposed to physical hazard of rotation and burns from steam lines that were not isolated.
