29 CFR 1910.106(e)(2)(iv)(d): Flammable liquids were not drawn from or transferred into vessels, containers, or portable tanks within a building only through a closed piping system, from safety cans, by means of a device drawing through the top, or from a container or portable tanks by gravity through an approved self-closing valve:  On or about July 28, 2017, the employer failed to ensure that 55 gallon drums used to dispense category 1 flammable liquids via gravity fed transfer had approved self-closing valves.

29 CFR 1910.107(c)(6):  Electrical wiring, motors, and other equipment outside of but within twenty (20) feet of any spraying area, and not separated therefrom by partitions, shall not produce sparks under normal operating conditions and did not otherwise conform to the provisions of subpart S of this part for Class I, Division 2 Hazardous Locations:  On or about July 28, 2017, there was general use electrical equipment/terminals that did not conform to Class I, Division 2 Hazardous Locations on the side of a spray booth; general use electrical terminals were within 3 feet of the open-face of a spray booth.

29 CFR 1910.107(e)(2): The quantity of flammable liquids or liquids with a flashpoint greater than 199.4 degrees F (93 degrees C) kept in the vicinity of spraying operations were not a minimum required for operations or they exceeded a supply for one day or one shift:   On or about July 28, 2017, the employer failed to ensure that flammable liquids kept in the vicinity of spraying operations did not exceed the required daily use. One the day of the inspection, 7 or more 55 gallon drums and 9 or more 5 gallon buckets (total of 430 gallons or more) of category 1 flammable liquids were kept in the vicinity of the spray booths and not properly stored.

29 CFR 1910.107(g)(2): All spraying areas were not kept as free from the accumulation of deposits of combustible residues as practical, with cleaning conducted daily if necessary:  On or about July 28, 2017, spraying areas were not kept free of combustible deposits. There was overspray on the floors outside of the spray booths and on the exterior of the spray booths, inlcuding on the manometers on the second and third spray booths.

29 CFR 1910.134(h)(2)(i): Respirators were not stored to protect them from damage, contamination, dust, sunlight, extreme temperatures, excessive moisture, and damaging chemicals or  were not packed or stored to prevent deformation of the facepiece and exhalation valve:  On or about July 28, 2017, the employer failed to ensure that all respirators were properly stored. A respirator was being stored on painting equipment in a spray booth in the paint room; it was exposed to overspray of paints and flammable liquids.
