29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels, was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system. Or, on roofs 50-feet (15.25 m) or less in width, each employee was not protected by use of a monitoring system. On or about July 27, 2017: a) Employees for Nations Roof South were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 16 feet while installing a new roof membrane coating without the use of fall protection measures. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(2)(iv): The employer did not ensure that each employee was trained, as necessary by a competent person in the role of each employee in the safety monitoring system where the system was used: On or about July 27, 2017: a) The employer exposed employees to fall hazards of approximately 16 feet by failing to train employees who were working under a safety monitor system while roofing a building with the ability and knowledge to recognize fall hazards. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
