29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): 1926.652(a)(1): Employees were not protected in an excavation from a cave-in by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with paragraph (b) and (c) of this section: At the jobsite located at Corner of South Topeka and East of Douglas, Wichita, KS 67202: Employees engaged in replacing the drainage system activities from inside a trench of 5 feet 7 inches and 6 feet 3 inches deep 8 feet 6 inches wide were exposed to hazards associated with collapse of trench walls in that sloping/benching/shielding or other protective systems were not provided or used. The trench was not shored, sloped or otherwise supported to prevent possible cave-in. 29 CFR 1903.19(c)(1) requires certification that the abatement of the above violation is complete.
