29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): Employers shall develop, implement, and maintain at each workplace, a written hazard communication program which at least describes how the criteria specified in paragraphs (f), (g), and (h) of this section for labels and other forms of warning, safety data sheets, and employee information and training will be met, and which also includes the following:      a. On or about August 09, 2017 at the above referenced worksite, employees were engaged in remodeling / construction activities involving the use of hazardous chemicals in their work area. The employer failed to establish a hazard communication program that would at a minimum; provided effective information and training to employees on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area. Employees were thereby exposed to skin, eye, and respiratory irritations.      Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

29 CFR 1926.102(a)(2): The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses eye protection that provides side protection when there is a hazard from flying objects. Detachable side protectors (e.g. clip-on or slide-on side shields) meeting the pertinent requirements of this section are acceptable.    a. On or about August 09, 2017 at the above referenced worksite, employees engaged in residential remodeling activities were required to work with equipment likely to cause flying debris / particles, i.e. miter saw, pneumatic nail guns, and various power tools. The employer failed to ensure all employees used proper eye protection to protect them from the hazards associated with flying debris. Employees were there by exposed to possible eye injuries.      Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
