OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to amputation and struck by hazards: a. On or about August 14, 2017, in the manual shop on the west side, employees were using a LeBond engine lathe machine that did not have a chuck guard, exposing employees to amputation and struck-by hazards. b. On or about August 14, 2017, in the manual shop on the east side, employees were using a Hardinge engine lathe machine that did not have a chuck, exposing employees to amputation and struck-by hazards. c. On or about August 14, 2017, in the manual shop on the east side, employees were using a Hardinge engine lathe machine that did not have a chuck guard, exposing employees to amputation and struck-by hazards. d. On or about August 14, 2017, in the manual shop on the west side, employees were using a LeBond engine lathe machine that did not have a chuck guard, exposing employees to amputation and struck-by hazards.
