29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): Eye and face protective equipment were not used when machines or operations presented potential eye or face injury: On or about August 15, 2017: a) Employee cutting Hardieplank siding was exposed to eye injuries when the employer failed to ensure that the employee was using proper eye protection. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).

29 CFR 1926.304(d): 29 CFR 1926.304(d): Each portable, power-driven circular saw withdrawn from the work did not automatically and instantly return the lower guard to the covering position of the saw. On or about August 15, 2017: a) employee operating circular saws to cut to size Hardieplank material was exposed to amputation hazards when the guards of the circular saws were choked back to prevent the return of the guard after removal from the material. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
