29 CFR 1910.242(b): Compressed air used for cleaning purposes was not reduced to less than 30 p.s.i.: a) Facility, 50 Breaker Road, Hanover Township (Wilkes-Barre), PA - Employees used wands that emitted compressed air with a gauge pressure greater than ninety pounds per square inch (>90 p.s.i.) to clean debris (plastic, metal, paper, etc.) from the floor, forklifts, and balers. Employees were exposed to potential injury caused by high pressure air, as observed on August 16, 2017. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19, abatement certification is required for this violation.

29 CFR 1910.147(c)(6)(i): The employer did not conduct a periodic inspection of the energy control procedure at least annually to ensure that the procedure and the requirement of this standard were being followed. a) Facility, 50 Breaker Road, Hanover Township (Wilkes-Barre) PA - Periodic inspections, at least annually, of the energy control procedures utilized by employees prior to the performance of service and maintenance for equipment such as but not limited to the balers, conveyors, compressor, and the separation line equipment were not conducted exposing employees to the unexpected release of energy in the event of equipment modifications or new equipment, on or about August 16, 2017. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19, abatement certification is required for this violation.
