29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. Location: 67-71 Somme St., Newark, NJ. a) Employees were observed working/walking near unprotected edges while conducting roofing operations on the roof. The employer did not provide any means of fall protection thereby exposing workers to a potential fall hazard of up to approximately 18 ft. to the floor below; on or about 8/16/17.
