29 CFR 1910.22(a)(1): All places of employment, passageways, storerooms, service rooms, and walking-working surfaces were not kept in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition:  a) Technick Products, Inc./South Plainfield, NJ- Powder Mixing Area: The employer did not ensure that surfaces including the floor, walls and equipment used, were kept clean and in sanitary condition. Employees are mixing powder which accumulated throughout the mixing room exposing them to respiratory and skin hazards.  Condition observed on or about August 18, 2017.

29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use:  a) Technick Products, Inc./South Plainfield, NJ- Mixing Area: Eyewash facilities were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use, where employees were exposed to chemical burns during a transfer and mixing of corrosives such as Ethfac 161, Diethanolamine, and Acetic Acid.  Condition observed on or about August 18, 2017.

29 CFR 1910.1200(g)(8): The employer did not maintain in the workplace copies of the required safety data sheets for each hazardous chemical:  a) Technick Products, Inc./South Plainfield, NJ- Throughout the facility: The employer did not maintain on site the most current version of the safety data sheet (SDS) for the chemicals employees were required to use. The Material Safety Data Sheets for Finawax-E were last revised/reviewed in 2005 and did not include all of the required elements such as pictograms as per the HCS2012 requirements.  Condition observed on or about August 18, 2017.
