CFR 1926.850(b):  Floors or walls were not shored and braced when employees were required to work within a structure to be demolished which had been damaged by fire, flood, explosion, or other cause:    a)  Employees were exposed to structural collapse hazard during gut renovation activities. The walls of the ground floor were removed without supporting the 2nd and 3rd floors; part of the 2nd floor was sagging.     b)  Temp shoring was unsafe: a makeshift shoring of a vertical 4x4 post was wedged up under a horizontal 4x4 to support the sagging second floor.  The horizontal 4x4 was bending under load and neither 4x4 was secured, just were wedged into place.    Location: 1332 Bergen Street, Brooklyn, N.Y.    On or about 8/17/2017    NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
