29 CFR 1910.132(a): Protective equipment was not maintained in a sanitary and reliable condition: (a) In the production floor of the Challenge Mfg. Holding Inc facility where employees were given unclean gloves to use when handling hot metal stamping products and were exposed to skin irritation and dermatitis.

29 CFR 1910.138(b): The employer did not base selection of appropriate hand protection on an evaluation of the performance characteristics of the hand protection relative to the tasks to be performed, conditions present, duration of use, and the hazards and potential hazards identified: a) In the Challenge Mfg. Holding Inc production floor where the employer did not select appropriate thermal protective gloves for employees handling hot parts and employees were exposed to second degree burns. The selection was not based on the performance characteristics of the gloves relative to the burn hazards present as a result of the tasks being performed by weld cell employees.
