29 CFR 1926.251(a)(6): Each day before being used, and during use, where service conditions warrant, the sling and all fastenings and attachments were not inspected for damage or defects by a competent person, and damaged or defective slings were not immediately removed from service:  a- Block 701 - Lot 3.27, 5 James Drive, Mount Laurel NJ:  Company employees were exposed to struck by and crushing hazards when using a visibly damaged synthetic sling (attached to the fork of an all-terrain fork truck) to lift, move, and place wooden roof trusses at the worksite.  This sling was not inspected for damage or defects by a competent person during its use on or about 08/24/17.  NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
