29 CFR 1926.251(a)(6): Each day before being used, and during use, where service conditions warrant, the sling and all fastenings and attachments were not inspected for damage or defects by a competent person, and damaged or defective slings were not immediately removed from service:  a- Block 701 - Lot 3.27, 5 James Drive, Mount Laurel NJ:  Company employees were exposed to struck by and crushing hazards when using a visibly damaged synthetic sling (attached to the fork of an all-terrain fork truck) to lift, move, and place wooden roof trusses at the worksite.  This sling was not inspected for damage or defects by a competent person during its use on or about 08/24/17.  NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b):   a- Block 701 - Lot 3.27, 5 James Drive, Mount Laurel NJ:  A company employee was exposed to fall hazards, in excess of 11 feet to the ground surface below, when performing roof truss installation and other related activities while working from a structure's outer wall top plates without the use of fall protection.  Condition noted on or about 08/24/17.  NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
