29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation.  On or about August 22, 2017, at 1030 Verbena Way, Auburn, Georgia:  a) An employee performing roofing work was exposed to a struck-by hazard from wood chips and nails when he used a Bostritch nail gun without wearing eye protection.   b) An employee performing roofing work was exposed to struck-by hazards from asphalt shingle debris, tar paper, and nails while using a leaf blower without wearing eye protection.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems:  On or about August 22, 2017, at 1030 Verbena Way, Auburn, Georgia:  Six employees performing roofing work were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 14.4-feet and greater when they worked from an approximately 12/12 slope roof without using fall protection.
