29 CFR 1910.242(b): Compressed air used for cleaning. Compressed air shall not be used for cleaning purposes except where reduced to less than 30 p.s.i. and then only with effective chip guarding and personal protective equipment. a. At the workplace in the Business Card Line #1 Area, an employee was exposed to unregulated compressed air that was not reduced to below 30 p.s.i. when used for cleaning purposes. The compressed air was measured at approximately 64 p.s.i. b. At the workplace in the P-Lam #2 Area, an employee was exposed to unregulated compressed air that was not reduced to below 30 p.s.i. when used for cleaning purposes. The compressed air was measured at approximately 87 p.s.i.
