29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c). (a) Worksite at the intersection of Westover and New Scotland Road: On or about 8/31/17, a Bellamy laborer and an employee of a subcontractor were exposed to collapse hazards while installing a tapping sleeve and valve assembly in an unprotected excavation approximately 6.5 to 7 feet deep in type B soil.
