29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A): Respirators with tight-fitting facepieces were worn by employees who had facial hair that came between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that interfered with valve function: (a) On or about August 29, 2017, and at times prior, the employer did not ensure that employees required to wear tight-fitting half face respirators to engage in spray painting operations were free of facial hair that came in between the sealing surface of the respirator and the face. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").
