29 CFR 1910.95(c)(1): The employer did not administer a continuing, effective hearing conservation program as described in 29 CFR 1910.9(c) through (o) whenever employee noise exposures equal or exceed an 8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 85 decibels measured on the A scale, or equivalently a dose of fifty percent: a). The employee grinding and polishing granite and marble materials in the fabrication shop was exposed to noise at 121.7% of the permissible daily exposure (8-hour time weighted average of 80 dBA) or the equivalent sound level of approximately 91.3 dBA during a 427 minutes sampling period on 10/11/17: exposure calculation includes a zero increment for the 53 minutes not sampled b). The employee grinding and polishing granite and marble materials in the fabrication shop was exposed to noise at 107.6% of the permissible daily exposure (8-hour time weighted average of 80 dBA) or the equivalent sound level of approximately 90.5 dBA during a 432 minutes sampling period on 10/11/17: exposure calculation includes a zero increment for the 48 minutes not sampled. c). The employee cutting granite and marble materials in the fabrication shop was exposed to noise at 68.2% of the permissible daily exposure (8-hour time weighted average of 80 dBA) or the equivalent sound level of approximately 87.1 dBA during a 435 minutes sampling period on 10/11/17: exposure calculation includes a zero increment for the 45 minutes not sampled. The employer did not implement a hearing conservation program to determine audiogram baseline for possible hearing lost yearly. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
