The employees were not wearing a DOT approved helmet.

29 CFR 1926.50(c): A person who has a valid certificate in first-aid training was not available at the worksite to render first-aid: a) Rural Area, 300 Shannon Road, Renfrew, PA 16053: On or about September 19, 2017, employees were operating and riding in a Polaris Ranger 900 XP 4x4 UTV in a remote area. An employee suffered severe injuries when the UTV flipped over. A first aid trained person did not provide care to the patient within four minutes of their injury. It took approximately eighteen minutes for care to be provided from emergency medical services.

29 CFR 1910.132(a): Protective equipment, including personal protective equipment for eyes, face, head, and extremities, protective clothing, respiratory devices, and protective shields and barriers, shall be provided, used, and maintained in a sanitary and reliable condition wherever it is necessary by reason of hazards of processes or environment, chemical hazards, radiological hazards, or mechanical irritants encountered in a manner capable of causing injury or impairment in the function of any part of the body through absorption, inhalation or physical contact. a) Rural Area, 300 Shannon Road, Renfrew, PA 16053: Employees, operating and riding in a Polaris Ranger 900 XP 4x4 UTV, were exposed to rollover and crushed-by hazards. On or about September 19, 2017, three employees were injured, one very seriously, when a Polaris Ranger UTV overturned while it was driven up and across a steep slope of 33-37 degrees. The employees were also not wearing seat belts and DOT approved protective helmets.
