29 CFR 1926.502(b)(1): The top edge height of the top rails, or equivalent guardrail system members, was not 42 inches (1.1 m) plus or minus 3 inches (8 cm) above the walking/working level: (a) Roof over D Section - Two employee worked from the flat roof, about 14 feet above the ground, installing control wiring in a roof-top HVAC unit. The roof parapet along the north, east, and west sides had a height of 31 inches, which did not meet the minimum top edge height requirement of 39 inches for a guardrail system, exposing the employees to the hazard of falling to a lower level, on or about September 20, 2017. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and state employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
