OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck by, crushing, and caught between hazards associated with the installation of inadequately braced prefabricated metal plate connected wood roof trusses. Site- Employees working below and in between inadequately braced prefabricated metal plate connected wood roof trusses were exposed to struck by, crushing, and caught between hazards. The supporting trusses of a two part piggyback metal plate connected wood roof truss assembly were installed the entire length of the roof and construction loads were applied to the trusses prior to the installation of the required continuous lateral restraint and diagonal bracing.
