Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. a. On or about October 17, 2017, at the site located at 1346 Swanson Street, Lewis Center, Ohio, an employee was painting exterior trim on a new two story home from the lower level roof with a pitch of approximately 4 in 12 and approximately 9 feet in height without fall protection, thereby exposing employees to a fall hazard.
