29 CFR 1910.264(d)(2)(i)(a): Laundry machinery safeguards, safety appliances or devices attached to, or forming an integral part of the machinery, were removed or made ineffective: (a) Westmount Hospitality Management LLC dba Crossland Economy Studios at 4850 Leetsdale Dr., Glendale, CO 80246: On and before October 14, 2017, the employer did not ensure that employees were protected from injury when operating the commercial washing machine, in that the safety-interlock for the loading door was inoperable, thus not preventing the door from being opened while the machine was operating. On October 14, 2018 an employee sustained serious arm injuries when his arm became caught and entangled by clothes in the spinning drum. This condition exposed employees to hazards associated with spinning clothes and machine parts. Abatement Note: Abatement certification and documentation is required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").
