29 CFR 1926.201(a): Signaling by flaggers and the use of flaggers, including warning garments worn by flaggers did not conform to Part VI of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Work Site: Intersection of Port Jersey BLVD. East exit and Pulaski St., Bayonne, NJ. a.) On or about 10/27/2017, employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by commercial vehicles and external traffic within an active highway construction zone when an active flagger left the flaggers position in order to provide signaling duties to a commercial vehicle operating in reverse; there-by the employer failed to follow standards and/or requirements set by both ANSI/ASSE A10.47-2009 Work Zone Safety For Highway Construction and the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
