29 CFR 1910.184(e)(1): Alloy steel sling(s) did not have permanently affixed durable identification stating size, grade, rated capacity, and reach: a) Lumber Yard (Powered Industrial Trucks): On or about October 31, 2017, and at times prior thereto, the employer allowed exposed employees to use alloy steel slings (chains) that did not have permanently affixed durable identification stating size, grade, rated capacity, and reach for job tasks such as but not limited to towing heavy equipment for repairs or pulling powered industrial vehicles (forklifts) out of a ditch or gully which exposed employees to struck-by and/or crushed-by hazards.
