29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(5)(i): Non-self-supporting ladders were not used at an angle such than the horizontal distance from the top support to the foot of the ladder way approximately one-quarter of the working length of the ladder (the distance along the ladder between the foot and the top support). a) 113 Columbia Road at the Pump House, Morristown, NJ. Employees were exposed to falls of up to 12 feet, 8 inches to the ground below as the extension ladder being used was not at the proper angle for setting up a ladder in that the ladder was too far away from the pump house wall at 10 feet versus the 1 1/2 feet necessary for the proper ladder angle. Violation observed on or about 10/19/2017.
