29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. US Hwy 50 bridge near Mile Post 136: On or about November 2, 2017, and at times prior, workers were not protected from falling approximately twelve feet to the ground below a bridge while terminating the west bound guardrail to the bridgework. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet).
