29 CFR 1926.651(k)(1): Daily inspections of excavations, the adjacent areas, and protective systems were not made by a competent person for evidence of a situation that could have resulted in possible cave-ins, indications of failure of protective systems: (a) On or about 11/7/2017 - 800 Block of Indian Creek Road, Huntsville, AL, employees were working in a trench excavation that had not been inspected by the Competent Person for signs of possible cave-in hazards or other hazardous conditions, such as but not limited to, fissures and large chunks of soil in the bottom of the trench.
