29 CFR 1926.651(k)(2): Where the competent person finds evidence of a situation that could result in a possible cave-in, exposed employees were not removed from the hazardous area until the necessary precautions have been taken to ensure their safety: Riverdale St. (South), West Springfield, MA: On or about November 15, 2017, the competent person did not remove employees working in the unprotected excavation (greater than 5 feet deep) until necessary precautions had been taken to ensure their safety. Specific abatement documentation that this violation has been corrected must be provided within 10 days of the abatement in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d)(1).
