29 CFR 1910.106(e)(9)(iii): Combustible waste material and residues in a building or unit operating area were not kept to a minimum, stored in covered metal receptacles and disposed of daily: (a) On or about November 17, 2017, and at times prior, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. did not ensure that combustible waste material and residues in a building were kept to a minimum, stored in covered metal receptacles and disposed of daily. Employees were exposed to fire hazards in that oily rags were stored in open plastic containers, and disposed of weekly. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet"). Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1187708, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on December 13, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. 6 Conley Rd. La Junta, CO 81050.

A dry-chemical portable fire extinguisher located in the oil pit was not mounted and identified exposing employees to fire hazards.
