29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: (Construction Reference: 1926.59) a) Delmar Library, Delmar, DE - On or about November 6, 2017, the employer failed to provide information and training to employees who are exposed to hazardous chemicals, to include but not limited to Portland cement [e.g. limestone, Magnesium oxide and Hexavalent Chromium], while performing masonry activities. Abatement Note: Information and training must be conducted in accordance with paragraph (h) of this section. Additionally, the trainining must address: * the hazards associated with exposure to portland cement, including hazards associated with the cement's Cr(VI) content; * preventive measures, including proper use and care of PPE and the importance of proper hygiene practices; and * employee access to hygiene facilities, PPE, and information (including MSDSs).
