29 CFR 1926.850(a): Prior to permitting employees to start demolition operations, an engineering survey was not made or/and followed, by a competent person, of the structure to determine the condition of the framing, floors, and walls, and possibility of unplanned collapse of any portion of the structure. Any adjacent structure where employees may be exposed shall also be similarly checked. The employer did not have in writing evidence that such a survey has been performed. Location: 510 Jefferson St, Hoboken, NJ. a) Employer did not review available engineering/demolition plans (i.e., engineering survey) prior to allowing employees to commence demolition operations which contributed to a partial building collapse at the site; on or about 11/15/17.

In each case, any utility company which is involved shall be notified in advance. Location: 510 Jefferson St., Hoboken, NJ. a) Employer failed to shut off/cap/control the electrical and gas service prior to the start of demolition operations; on or about 11/15/17.
