29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) On or about November 23, 2017, the employer failed to provide guarding on the 114 Hooper in feed side, located on the production floor, to protect employees from a pinch point hazard where employees are exposed to metal rollers. b) On or about November 23, 2017, the employer failed to provide adequate guarding on the 114 Hooper, located on the production floor, to protect employees from a pinch point and caught in hazards from the layboy/belt area. The employer had light curtains, however they did not cover the entire exposure area. c) On or about November 23, 2017, the employer failed to provide adequate guarding on the 175 Jumbo printer slotter, located on the production floor, to protect employees from a pinch point and caught in hazard from the layboy/belt area.The employer had light curtains, however, they did not cover the entire exposure area.
