29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by rotating parts:   Quartermaster Bldg. (079), Maintenance Shop:  A Jet drill press (MD# JDP-14J) was not guarded at the point of operation to protect employees from flying fragments and dust or caught-in hazards.      The National Park Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1145402, citation number 01, item number 004 and was affirmed as a final order on 9/26/2016, with respect to a workplace located at 5000 Highway 146 Paicines, CA 95043.   The National Park Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1237613, citation number 01, item number 001a and was affirmed as a final order on 11/1/2017, with respect to a workplace located at 111 second Street Crescent City, CA 95531.   The National Park Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1237613, citation number 01, item number 003 and was affirmed as a final order on 11/1/2017, with respect to a workplace located at 121200 Highway 101-South Orick, CA 95531.

29 CFR 1910.215(a)(4): Work rest(s) on grinding machinery were not adjusted closely to the wheel with a maximum opening of one eighth inch:        Quartermaster Building 79, Maintenance Shop:  A Dayton 7" double wheeled bench grinder had 1/2" measured gaps between the work rests and the grinding wheel on both the left and right sides.         The National Park Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1145402, citation number 01, item number 007 and was affirmed as a final order on 9/26/2016, with respect to a workplace located at 5000 Highway 146 Paicines, CA 95043.
