The use of a body belt in a tethering system or in a restraint system is acceptable and is regulated Silo: On or about November 30, 2017, employees were exposed to a fall hazard, while using a Genie aerial lift, Model S80X, while not being tethered to the basket of the lift via fall protection equipment.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: Silo: On or about November 30, 2017, employees were exposed to a fall hazard greater than 6 feet to the concrete ground below while installing a ladder from the top of a silo without fall protection.
