29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: Location: 580 Coe Avenue, East Haven, CT 06512 The rotating machine parts in the hopper of the cheese smoking machine were not equipped with machine guarding to protect each employees from the rotating parts. On or about December 7, 2018, an employee sustained serious hand injuries while loading chips into the hopper of the cheese smoking machine.
