29 CFR 1910.179(n)(1): Crane(s) were loaded beyond the rated load (maximum load for which the crane or individual hoist was designed and built by the manufacturer and shown on the equipment nameplate: On or about December 19, 2017 the following cranes, to include but not limited to, were being loaded beyond the rated load: a) The Gorbel underhung crane located in the first addition, which was rated at 2 tons, was being used with a Budgit 3 ton hoist. Employees are lifting loads that can be up to 5000 pounds which is more than the rated load allowed causing a struck by hazard. b) a) The Gorbel underhung crane located in the back high bay north, which was rated at 4000 pounds, was being used with a Budgit 3 ton hoist. Employees are lifting loads that can be up to 5000 pounds which is more than the rated load allowed causing a struck by hazard. c)a) The Gorbel underhung crane located in the bay high bay south, which was rated at 4000 pounds, was being used with a Budgit 3 ton hoist. Employees are lifting loads that can be up to 5000 pounds which is more than the rated load allowed causing a struck by hazard.
