29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): "Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure.   a.  On or about December 20, 2017, at the construction site located at Lot #23 Careberry Drive, Dublin, Ohio, an employee was performing framing work on a lower level roof of a two story residential home with a pitch of approximately 6 in 12 and approximately 9 feet in height with no fall protection, thereby exposing the employee to a fall hazard.  b.  On or about December 20, 2017, at the construction site located at Lot #23 Careberry Drive, Dublin, Ohio, an employee was performing framing work on a residential home while sitting on top of the garage door framing at the second story floor level at approximately 9 feet in height with no fall protection, thereby exposing the employee to a fall hazard.  VRG Construction was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard (1926.501(b)(13)), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1257066 citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on October 27, 2017, with respect to a workplace located at Lot #3 Brandon Drive, Lewis Center, Ohio 43035.
