An employee owned tight fitting elastomeric half mask respirator equipped with particulate filters was not properly maintained in that the elastic head strap no longer held its elasticity, inhalation valves did not match each other, and the inside surface of the respirator was covered in black material. The employee was exposed to hazards associated with exposures to particulates not otherwise regulated containing 1,3,5-Triglycidyl Isocyanurate such as, but not limited to, irritation to the eyes, throat, skin, and  upper respiratory system, hematologic effects, and male reproductive damage.

The elastic head band of a tight fitting elastomeric half masked respirator worn by an employee was found to be in poor condition in that the elastic head strap no longer held its elasticity, inhalation valves did not match each other, and the inside surface of the respirator was covered in black material. Employees were fit tested with 3M 7502 and 3M 7503 tight fitting elastomeric half mask respirators, but were then issued and required to wear Moldex 9002M and 9003L tight fitting elastomeric full face respirators without completing a new fit test.  Employees were exposed to hazards associated with exposures to particulates not otherwise regulated containing 1,3,5-Triglycidyl Isocyanurate while applying powder paint such as, but not limited to, irritation to the eyes, throat, skin, and  upper respiratory system, hematologic effects, and male reproductive damage.

Employees applying powder paint inside the Nordson powder coating booth were observed wearing bandanas or baseball caps that were worn between the forehead and respirator seal. Employees were exposed to hazards associated with exposures to particulates not otherwise regulated containing 1,3,5-Triglycidyl Isocyanurate while applying powder paint such as, but not limited to, irritation to the eyes, throat, skin, and  upper respiratory system, hematologic effects, and male reproductive damage.

Employees were exposed to chemicals including, but not limited to, particulates not otherwise regulated and triglycidyl isocyanurate when engaged in electrostatic spray coating operations. Employees were exposed to hazards associated with total dust such as, but not limited to, irritation to the eyes, skin, throat, and upper respiratory system, as well as dermal sensitization, hematologic effects, and male reproductive damage associated with exposures to TGIC.      a) On or about January 30, 2018 an employee applying paint powder by means of electrostatic hand spraying equipment inside the Nordson Electrostatic Powder Coating System was over exposed to particulates not otherwise regulated (total dust) at an eight hour time weighted average of approximately 72.17 mg/m3 which exceeded OSHAs permissible exposure limit of 15 mg/m3 by approximately 481.1%.       b) On or about January 30, 2018 an employee applying paint powder by means of electrostatic hand spraying equipment inside the Nordson Electrostatic Powder Coating System was over exposed to particulates not otherwise regulated (total dust) at an eight hour time weighted average of approximately 82.48 mg/m3 which exceeded OSHAs permissible exposure limit of 15 mg/m3 by approximately 550%.
