29 CFR 1910.37(a)(1): Exit routes shall not have flammable, explosive, combustible gases or flammable furnishings stored in the exit route. Employees engaged in daily shop activities in and around the dryer area were exposed to fire hazards in that propane was allowed to be stored immediately next to the egress door that serves this area.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Types of guarding. One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices, electronic safety devices, etc. Employees engaged in material cutting and drilling activities at the following pieces of equipment in the machine shop and wood shop were exposed to caught-in and amputation hazards in that: a) WF Well horizontal band saw, model number AC-7 SN 478, the unused portion of the blade was not guarded b) Drill press model UNK SN 31-5396, the bit and chuck were not guarded
