29 CFR 1910.243(c)(3): An abrasive wheel used on a vertical portable grinder or right angle head grinder was not provided with a safety guard having a maximum exposure angle of 180 degrees and located between the operator and wheel.    a) Maintenance Area, 31 Roberts Road, Pine Grove, PA - Employees used a DeWalt Model 28402 Heavy Duty Small Angle Grinder with a Black Hawk 4.5" Z 60 Grit Zirconia Flap Disc without a safety guard, exposing the employees to struck-by hazards, as observed on December 27, 2017.    In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19, abatement certification is not required for this violation. The hazardous condition was corrected during the inspection.
