OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by the load should the components of the overhead hoist/bridge cranes fail:  a)  1501 Building, on or about 1/16/18:  Safety latch was missing on the lifting hook for the Coffing 1/2 ton overhead hoist.  The jib crane that the 1/2 ton hoist was attached to was only rated for 750 lbs.  No inspections were conducted of the hoist and crane system.  b)  1501 Building, on or about 1/16/18:  A one ton Dayton overhead hoist was attached to a steel beam with no rated load capacity markings on it and no inspections were conducted of the hoist and crane system.  Abatement certification must be submitted for these items.
